In September 2023, water hyacinth exports reached 8.0 million USD, down 13.7% compared to August 2023, up 34.2% compared to September 2022. Overall, in the first 9 months of 2023, water hyacinth exports reached 71.92 million USD, down 6.6% over the same period in 2022.

Regarding the market, according to statistics, Vietnam's export of rattan, bamboo, sedge and carpet products to the EU market in September 2023 reached 11.52 million USD, down 20.8% compared to August 2023 and down 8.4% compared to September 2022. Overall, in the first 9 months of 2023, exports of rattan, bamboo, rush and carpet products to the EU accounted for 25.3% of the country's total export turnover of this item, reaching 136.44 million USD, down 14.6 % compared to the same period in 2022.

Exports of rattan, bamboo, rush, and carpet products to the US market in September 2023 reached 17.80 million USD, down 26.7% compared to August 2023, but up 15.2% compared to September /2022. Overall, in the first 9 months of 2023, exports of rattan, bamboo, rush, and carpet to the United States accounted for 37.8% of the country's total export turnover of this item, reaching 203.80 million USD, down 22.3%. compared to the same period in 2022.
