Busy preparing for export orders, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vina T&T Group, said: Currently, China is promoting the purchase of many types of Vietnamese fruits, especially durian. These days, businesses regularly pack goods to export to China. This year, the enterprise signed a contract to export 1,500 containers (15 tons each) of durian to its Chinese partner. Up to this point, the business has paid about 30% of the order.
“Durian is harvested in batches, so if it is fully ripe, it will be exported a lot and vice versa. However, at this time, there are not enough goods to pay for partners," said Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tung.
Besides China, exports of vegetables and fruits to other markets such as the US, Australia and the EU all recorded an increase of 5-10% over the same period last year.
Similarly, Ameii Vietnam Joint Stock Company is also busy transferring lychee export orders to Japan, Germany, England, the Middle East, etc. Mr. Nguyen Khac Tien, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Ameii Vietnam said that in the Japanese market, this year, enterprises expect to export lychee volume to increase by 30-50% over the same period last year. In addition, durian exports to Japan also grew well.

Not only exporting lychee to traditional markets, many businesses have also opened more markets such as the UK and the US. Vietnamese seedless lychees and lychees are sold on UK supermarket shelves for 400,000-800,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, fresh lychee shipments from Vietnam were also sold simultaneously at many of the largest supermarkets and Asian markets in June 2023 such as Hong Kong, Tan Binh, Viet Hoa, Linda's Tropical Fruits, Ca Mau. …
Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports in the first half of 2023 have prospered. According to data of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the first 6 months of the year reached nearly 2.8 billion USD, a sharp increase of 64% over the same period last year.
Particularly in June 2023, the export of the fruit and vegetable industry was estimated to bring in nearly $950 million, up 2.6 times compared to June 2022. Will reach 5 billion USD
According to Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, in the first 6 months of 2023, fruit and vegetable exports will become a bright spot for the agricultural industry when most export items tend to have good growth. In particular, durian exports to China exploded in orders.
"If we are granted more planting area codes and packing facilities, durian export quota to China will reach about 400-500 thousand tons, this year this fruit can earn about 1.5 billion USD." Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen shared.
With dragon fruit products, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trinh - Chairman of Long An Dragon Fruit Association acknowledged that dragon fruit export is much more favorable than previous years thanks to China's strong "goods". The reason is that China's dragon fruit output is declining due to drought, so they import more to meet domestic consumption.
“Dragon fruit can regain its billion-dollar fruit position. From the end of last year until now, the price of dragon fruit has always been higher than the cost, and farmers have made a profit. With the average selling price of 20,000 VND/kg, farmers make a profit of about 400 million VND/ha/year," said Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trinh.
In addition, banana products, last year's export only reached 311 million USD, this year, the trend of exporting to China, Japan, Korea ... increased sharply. Therefore, banana exports are expected to earn about 700-800 million USD.
Assessing the export potential in the second half of 2023 and the following years, Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen - General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association said that many types of Vietnamese fruits are now in the harvest and With the characteristics of spreading the crop, this year's fruit and vegetable export is considered to have a lot of room.
According to statistics, in the second quarter of 2023, the country's fruit output is estimated at over 2.6 million tons. Of which, about 460 thousand tons of bananas, 350 thousand tons of mangoes, 300,000 tons of durians, 250 thousand tons of dragon fruits, 330 thousand tons of lychee, 217 thousand tons of pineapples, 110 thousand tons of longan, 180 thousand tons of oranges... According to the report, in the 3rd - 4th quarter of 2023, there will be nearly 7.6 million tons of main fruits to be consumed such as mango, banana, dragon fruit, pineapple, orange, litchi, longan, durian, jackfruit, avocado.. Thus, it can be seen that the supply of fruit is and will be very abundant, meeting export orders well in the near future.
“Export of vegetables and fruits has reached nearly 3 billion USD in only the first 6 months of 2023. While we still have a huge source of durian in the Central Highlands when it is only a month away from fruiting, the crop lasts until the end of the year. Thus, with this growth momentum, it is forecasted that in the second half of 2023, Vietnam's fruit and vegetable export turnover will reach 5 billion USD. This number is almost within reach," said Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen.
