Specialty coffee is a type of coffee that comes from growing areas with special natural conditions. The care, harvesting and processing process of specialty coffee follows the standards and evaluation procedures of the World Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) and the World Coffee Quality Institute (CQI). To be considered specialty coffee, this product must score 80 points or more in the evaluation process.

The specialty coffee in this shipment is grown at Eatan Cooperative - Krongnang, with an altitude of over 800m above sea level. This growing area has a large difference in temperature between day and night, creating favorable conditions for coffee plants to grow and produce an outstanding quality coffee.

After being hand-picked with 100% rate, the coffee is processed, then washed twice with water and will be controlled for the whole fermentation process contrary to the natural processing method Anaerobic Natural, from That creates unique and distinctive flavors for coffee.

Finally, the coffee will undergo a slow drying period to remove moisture and achieve the required stability. To preserve flavor longer, coffee after processing will be stored in cool storage. All the above process is to create new and unique flavors for specialty coffee, while preserving the quality and flavor of the coffee for a long time.

Mr. Le Duc Huy - General Director of Simexco Daklak - said that customers who buy specialty coffee are often very demanding and require quality stability for the whole shipment. To meet this requirement, Simexco spent many years allowing customers to test and approve samples before sending out this order.

Besides, the value of specialty coffee is often many times higher than commercial coffee. This shows the uniqueness and outstanding quality of the product in the era of diverse product designs on the domestic and international coffee market. Some specialty coffee products are even worth up to 310,000 - 430,000 VND/kg (priced in the first specialty coffee auction in Vietnam).

“The Japanese partner (the company's longtime customer) previously mainly bought commercial green coffee products (Arabica and Robusta), but after a long time of researching, surveying and checking product quality. Simexco Daklak's products, when they realized that this is a new product with potential for development, they decided to place an order to expand further in the domestic market ," shared Mr. Le Duc Huy.

At the same time, the production and consumption of specialty coffee will bring high added value, helping to change the production direction of farmers and create sustainable income opportunities.
