While many items have higher export value than the same period last year, such as: Coffee USD 2.02 billion, up 0.2%; vegetables and fruits 1.97 billion USD, up 39.0%; cashew nuts 1.28 million USD, up 5.5%; Meat and by-products reached US$58 million, up 59.1%..., especially rice reached US$2.02 billion, up 49.0%.

Besides, there are also products with a decrease in export value compared to the same period last year, such as: Rubber 799 million USD, down 24.0%; tea reached 65 million USD, down 18.9%; pepper reached $414 million, down 9.9%; cassava and cassava products reached USD 539 million, down 14.3%; pangasius 690 million USD, down 40.7%; shrimp $ 1.22 billion, down 34.4%, wood and wood products $ 5.1 billion, down 27.3%; rattan, bamboo, sedge carpet $298 million, down 28.4%...

The average export prices of a number of main export agricultural products decreased compared to the same period last year, specifically: pepper 3,011 USD/ton, down 34.9%; fertilizers of all kinds 415 USD/ton, down 35.2%; rubber 1,378 USD/ton, down 21.5%; cassava and cassava products 382 USD/ton, down 12.0%... the price of rice alone reached 517 USD/ton, up 5.8%; coffee reached 2,295 USD/ton, up 2.4%.

Regarding export markets, in the first 5 months of 2021, China , the United States and Japan continue to be the three largest export markets of Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery products. In which, the export value to the Chinese market accounted for 20.4%, up 2.9% over the same period last year; export value to the US market accounted for 19.8%, down 35.2% and Japan accounted for 7.8%, down 1.2%.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the major export markets of Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery products are gradually growing again, such as: China reopening; Exports to Japan, Asia increased again.

However, the world economy continues to face many difficulties, high inflation in some developed countries, tight monetary policies, especially in large markets such as the US and Europe make businesses Difficulty in signing and fulfilling orders.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict continues to develop complicatedly,... along with that, many countries have implemented policies to strengthen the protection of domestically produced products and goods; boosting agricultural production to proactively supply, making Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery exports forecast to continue to face many difficulties.

In the country, fruit products have an abundant, relatively stable supply, many types are about to be harvested (mango, durian, jackfruit, lemon, litchi). Raising livestock and poultry is still difficult. The weather is abnormal, El Nino is hotter and hotter, the risk of water shortage for agricultural, forestry and fishery production and forest fires is very high in many localities; Diseases on crops and livestock also have potential risks of outbreaks affecting the production and business of agro-forestry-fishery.
