Kon Tum: Export turnover exceeds 19% of the plan in 2022

On December 15, Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee said that by the end of 2022, the socio-economic situation in the province has achieved positive results. Gross domestic product (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 9.5% compared to 2021. GRDP per capita is 52.44 million, exceeding the set plan.

Export has been a bright spot in the economic development of Kon Tum province in the past year. Export turnover in 2022 is estimated at 320.8 million USD, up 10% over the same period (290.5 million USD) and up 19% compared to the year plan (270 million USD).

According to the People's Committee of Kon Tum province, the increase in exports is due to businesses being proactive in producing goods and promoting exports. Especially rubber exporters . Currently, rubber is the province's main export product, accounting for the largest proportion of the local export turnover, estimated to increase by 30% over the same period.

Regarding the export market, China is still the main export market of Kon Tum province, accounting for 78% of the total export value.

Besides, Kon Tum's goods have also been exported to many other markets, such as: Green coffee exported to the UK, Singapore, Korea and some countries in Europe; Rubber and rubber products are exported to Hong Kong, USA, Korea, Spain, Indonesia, India, Italy, Germany, Taiwan, Philippines, Japan, Colombia, Israel, Yemen, Singapore, ..; Wood and wood products are mainly exported to the US and Singapore markets. In which, exports to the markets of countries that are members of CPTPP reached 10%, including Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia); EVFTA (11% including Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Bulgaria); UKVFTA (0.3% UK).

Import turnover of the province in 2022 is estimated at 6.6 million USD, achieving the plan set out in the year The main imported goods are chemicals and plastic materials.

In 2023, Kon Tum province set a target of economic growth (GRDP) of 10% or more. In the economic structure, trade - service accounts for the largest proportion of 41-42%; industry - construction accounted for 31-32%; forestry and fishery account for 19-20%. Striving for budget revenue to reach VND 4,500 billion. Established 360 new businesses. Export turnover reached 290 million USD. Expand the total area of industrial plants, fruit trees, medicinal plants ( Ngoc Linh ginseng and other medicinal plants). Build 3 more products to join the value chain of national products; ranking on the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI), and the Public Administration Reform Index (PAR INDEX) up 5 places compared to 2022. .
