Commenting on the Chinese market for fruit and vegetable consumption at the end of the year and the Lunar New Year, Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen assessed that Vietnam's fruit and vegetable market is still heavily influenced by the Chinese market. Annually, export turnover to the Chinese market accounts for 50%. Chinese culture is quite similar to that of Vietnam, so the demand for vegetables and fruits for Tet will be high to serve spiritual culture. This will affect the price and quantity consumed.

“Last year, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, China's "Zezo Covid" policy had a great influence on producers and traders of agricultural products in Vietnam. This year, China has relaxed the "Zezo Covid" policy, so the situation will improve. There may still be congestion at the border, but not as much as last year ," Nguyen said.

Mr. Le Thanh Hoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Products Processing and Market Development ( Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development ) - said that on the occasion of Tet, the demand for fresh fruit of the Chinese market still accounts for more than 50% of fresh fruit exports of Vietnam.
