After the General Department of Customs of China signed the Protocol on quarantine requirements for Vietnamese bird's nest products exported to China and delivered by express delivery to Vietnam, on November 16, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan officially signed this protocol.

Minister Le Minh Hoan shared that in the past 3 years, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has made efforts to negotiate to export official bird's nest to China.

When activating this large market, the bird's nest industry chain will be restructured, creating higher added value.

Thus, the income and profits of bird nest farmers and processing enterprises will increase and be more sustainable than the previous small-scale export.

Minister Le Minh Hoan said that China is the largest market for oats in the world, accounting for 80% of the global market share. Meanwhile, Vietnam is a country with potential for swiftlet farming.

The quality of Vietnam's bird's nest products is considered superior to other countries in the region. As a result, Vietnamese bird's nest products are very popular with Chinese customers. The bird's nest industry is considered to have great economic value and export potential.

Currently, the country has over 22,000 bird nest houses. The output of Vietnam's oats is about 120 tons, worth over 500 million USD. Vietnam's bird's nest industry has many development opportunities and potential to bring high economic value.

New impetus to strongly develop the model of swiftlet farming and processing of nests

The export of bird's nests to the Chinese market will create a lot of opportunities for the development of Vietnam's bird's nest industry, ensuring stable output for products, bringing very high economic benefits, creating a driving force for development. strongly develop the model of raising swiftlets and processing nests.

Minister Le Minh Hoan has assigned units of the Ministry to organize a conference to disseminate the contents of the Protocol, to fully inform associations, businesses, and bird nest farmers in key oat-raising localities about the requirements of the market such as: management of swiftlet farming facilities, traceability, food safety, quality.

"How can associations, businesses, and bird's nest farmers ensure that their products keep their credibility in the market. The opportunity is there, the problem is the mood to export a commodity that the market has a great demand for. ", Minister Le Minh Hoan shared.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will make transparent the entire process of production, assessment and licensing of export enterprises to transfer to the General Administration of Customs of China.

In addition, the Ministry will also make transparent the procedures and results of quarantine of the two sides, creating confidence for businesses and people raising oats.

At the same time, organize production, apply digital transformation to control in production, create confidence for consumers and import markets.

In the long term, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will direct to have a strategy and plan to develop the Vietnamese bird's nest industry responsibly and sustainably, ensuring to maintain the Vietnamese bird's nest brand, meet the demand of China, as well as other potential markets.
