In the third quarter of 2022, imported meat and meat products mainly include: Meat and edible offal after slaughter, of poultry of heading 01.05, fresh chilled or frozen; Fresh frozen buffalo meat; Fresh chilled or frozen pork; Edible slaughter by-products of live chilled or frozen pigs, buffaloes and cows; Fresh chilled or frozen beef… In which, pork imports continued to decline, while poultry, beef and buffalo meat imports tended to increase over the same period in 2021.

In the third quarter of 2022, Vietnam imported 31.76 thousand tons of pork (HS 0203), worth USD 67.07 million, down 24.4% in volume and down 30.6% in value over the same period. in 2021. Last time, pork imports continuously decreased compared to the same period in 2021 due to slow recovery of demand.

In the third quarter of 2022, Brazil, Russia, Germany, Canada and Poland are the 5 largest pork suppliers to Vietnam. Brazil is the largest pork supplier to Vietnam with 11.79 thousand tons, worth 25.6 million USD, up 8% in volume, but down 2.2% in value over the same period in 2021.

In the coming time, the demand for meat and meat products is expected to increase due to the high demand for food at the end of the year. However, because Vietnam's meat supply is quite abundant, basically meeting the domestic consumption demand, it is forecast that the import of meat and meat products will not increase suddenly in the near future.
