Container cargo through seaports increased sharply
TPO - In the first 3 months of the year, container cargo through Vietnam's seaports continued to keep gaining momentum, in which imported container goods increased the most.

According to the Vietnam Maritime Administration , in the first 3 months of 2022, the volume of goods through Vietnam's seaports is estimated at nearly 180 million tons. In which, container cargo is estimated at 6.2 million TEUs.

Particularly in March 2022, the volume of goods through the seaport was estimated at 67.3 million tons, up 4% over the same period in 2021. Container cargo was estimated at 2.3 million TEUs, up 6%.

In which, imported container goods had a strong increase with a growth rate of 12%, reaching 826,000 TEUs. Exports increased by 7%, reaching 757,000 TEUs.

Some areas have high volume of goods through such as: Quang Ninh area increased by 48% (from 14.6 million tons to 21.7 million tons), Quang Tri area increased by 38% (from 175 thousand tons to 241 tons). thousand tons), Nghe An increased 14% (from 1.67 million tons to 1.9 million tons).

However, many seaport areas saw a decrease in the throughput of goods such as: Binh Thuan area decreased by 38%, Can Tho area decreased by 24%, Dong Thap area decreased by 28%. Large seaports such as Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau also recorded a slight decrease of 5% (down 1.2 million tons) and 2% (down 396 thousand tons), respectively.
