According to this plan, Binh Thuan will promote dragon fruit exports to other countries' markets, but still focus on consolidating and expanding existing traditional export markets. At the same time, strengthen trade promotion, support enterprises to penetrate and open new and potential markets to consume products. Striving to 2025, the official export turnover of dragon fruit will reach 50-60 million USD/year and gradually raise the domestic consumption rate to 22-25%.

To achieve the above goal, Binh Thuan promotes support for businesses to participate in trade promotion activities abroad to develop and expand more dragon fruit export markets. Specifically, organize survey and trade delegations to learn and open new and potential markets for dragon fruit exports to limit risks and reduce dependence on the Chinese market.

For the domestic market, in addition to supporting businesses to step up trade promotion activities, Binh Thuan will well implement cooperation and association programs with domestic provinces and cities. From there, supporting businesses in promoting their brands, introducing products, finding customers, opening more distribution channels, consuming products, focusing on Hanoi and neighboring provinces, followed by the market. City school. Ho Chi Minh City and Central Coast provinces - Central Highlands...

Along with the above solution, Binh Thuan will promote the production and business of "clean" dragon fruit, organic production, and application of high technology according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards to ensure the quality of goods supplied to demand. domestic consumption and export.

In October 2021, Japan officially granted a geographical indication protection certificate for Binh Thuan dragon fruit. Thus, after more than 3 years of filing, Binh Thuan dragon fruit is the second product of Vietnam after Luc Ngan lychee to be granted GI protection in Japan.

According to Mr. Phan Van Tan, Deputy Director of Binh Thuan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the fact that Binh Thuan dragon fruit is granted geographical indication protection in Japan means affirming the prestige of Binh Thuan dragon fruit in the Japanese market. Besides, there will be many opportunities to promote and expand the market for exporting Binh Thuan dragon fruit to other markets.

Thuan went to survey the market and promote dragon fruit consumption. However, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the program could not be implemented and switched to online connection.

“Japan and India are two huge potential markets. Therefore, in the coming time, besides other markets, Binh Thuan Department of Industry and Trade will pay attention, focus on developing and expanding these two markets to consume dragon fruit", Mr. Tai shared and added, to Expanding into these two markets, Binh Thuan Department of Industry and Trade will coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Trade Office of Vietnam in Japan and India to assist businesses in solving difficulties, timely informing about the market situation as well such as new import and export guidelines and policies of Japan and India to disseminate to businesses in order to promote long-term consumption of Binh Thuan dragon fruit, contributing to solving output difficulties, reducing dependence on into the Chinese market.
