"A day here, it costs about 500,000 VND, excluding the parking fee. Many cars come here and have to turn around and find another border gate," said Mr. Tran Van An (driver).

Cao Bang Customs Department said that due to flexible and effective anti-epidemic measures, border gates in Cao Bang province such as Ta Lung, Tra Linh and Soc Giang still maintain customs clearance operations. Every day, about 300 containers of goods are imported and exported.

Although not much, but at this time, maintaining import and export has contributed to reducing the load on border gates in Lang Son province. However, for about a week now, many containers of goods have been diverted from Lang Son to Cao Bang to find export opportunities, leading to congestion. The Chinese side has also tightened epidemic prevention measures, so customs clearance still faces many difficulties.

"The budget revenue of Cao Bang Customs increased due to the movement of goods through the area. We determined this was an important task, so we directed the Ta Lung and Tra Linh Customs Branches to cooperate with the Customs Branches. forces, especially Nanning Customs, China carry out customs clearance outside of office hours to facilitate goods in and out," said Director of Cao Bang Customs Department Hoang Khanh Hoa.

According to reporters, from the beginning of the month to now, about 800 containers of goods have been diverted from Lang Son to Cao Bang. Cao Bang province has also built a "safe green zone" at the border gate and a "buffer zone" outside the border gate area to channelize, disinfect, test for COVID-19 for drivers and goods before bringing them to the border gate. However, at present, the border gates are still in a state of drip clearance.
