Only Huu Nghi border gate remains, agricultural products continue to be severely congested

On the afternoon of December 20, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, together with the People's Committee of Lang Son province and the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam held a press conference to inform about the congestion of agricultural products at the northern border gates.

Information about the situation, Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, said that as of today, there are still about 4,598 container trucks transporting agricultural products at the border gates of Lang Son. Currently, in this province, only Huu Nghi international border gate is clearing customs. Tan Thanh border gate has just suspended customs clearance since December 18, Chi Ma border gate has stopped since December 8. Therefore, the customs clearance in the coming time will continue to face many difficulties.

According to data from Lang Son Border Gate Management Board, the number of vehicle clearances per day currently stands at 90-100 vehicles, about one-fifth of the previous capacity.

 

Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Chairman of Lang Son People's Committee said that currently only Huu Nghi border gate clears customs, so the goods will continue to face many difficulties in the coming time.

In the past few days, the Secretary of Guangxi Province, the Minister of Commerce of China also called the embassy. , proposed to coordinate to find solutions for customs clearance of goods," said Mr. Cam.

Regarding the information that China temporarily stopped importing goods during the 14 days of the Lunar New Year, Mr. Ho Toa Cam said that so far, the Chinese embassy in Vietnam has not received any information about the sea ports in the region. South of China will take 14 days or 60 days off. This information will be checked by the embassy and will have official information to Vietnamese authorities.

Answering a question from reporter Tien Phong about the fact that China discovered the SARS-CoV-2 virus on Vietnamese dragon fruit, Mr. Ho Toa Cam said that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was actually detected by the authorities. This water capacity is detected on the container containing the dragon fruit. It could be from the sample coming from the driver.

According to Mr. Ho Toa Cam, due to the serious congestion in recent days, a part of many Vietnamese drivers have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Pingxiang city government has been implementing epidemic prevention measures, paying attention to taking advantage of time so as not to affect the circulation of goods.

Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam said that, in the face of serious congestion at border gates, businesses need to limit bringing goods to the border. At the same time, businesses strictly implement 5K to avoid causing general damage. The Vietnamese authorities will be on duty 24/24 to find all suitable measures to increase the clearance of goods jams.
