Import and export activities are recovering at their original pace |
The bright spot in the export situation in September is also in the export turnover of goods of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City had an initial recovery with a turnover of USD 3.363 billion, up 33% compared to August, equivalent to an increase of more than USD 800 million. This is a very good signal for import and export activities by Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City is not only an area with many export processing zones and industrial parks with production and export activities, but also as the largest seaport in our country and Tan Son Nhat international airport, so the The city has timely solutions to create favorable conditions that will help businesses in southern provinces and cities open more doors to import supplies, raw materials, machinery and equipment... for production, as well as export goods. for the year-end consumption season.
Get the growth momentum at the end of the year
At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the third quarter held recently, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai informed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is trying to support businesses to make good use of FTAs; creating favorable conditions for administrative reform... to increase export turnover. This year, the Government assigned export growth at 4-5%, but the Ministry of Industry and Trade forecasts the possibility that export turnover may increase by over 10%.
This goal is justified when a number of large export projects have been implemented recently. For example, LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. has increased its capital by 1.4 billion USD, bringing the total investment capital in Hai Phong to 4.65 billion USD, becoming the project with the largest investment capital in the city. Hai Phong. With the additional investment capital, the company will increase the output of plastic OLED screens from 9.6 to 10 million products/month to 13-14 million products/month. It is expected that export revenue will increase by about 6.5 billion USD/year. This figure will make a positive contribution to our country's foreign trade.
Regarding the trade balance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade forecasts that, if there is no major change in disease control, the last 3 months of the year will be the time when businesses in the southern regions will regain their growth momentum. Therefore, by the end of 2021, it is likely that the trade balance will be at balance. Even if the situation is more favorable, in 2021, the whole country may have a trade surplus.
Total import and export turnover of the whole country in the first 9 months of the year reached 484 billion USD, equivalent to 54 billion USD per month. It is forecasted that import and export turnover for the whole year can exceed 600 billion USD. |
